The Only Thing Your Clients Want To Know About You
Picture this…
You’re in the middle of watching yet another free webinar that promises to teach how to keep your business going during this pandemic.
Suddenly your phone rings…
OMG it’s a prospect that got your number from one of your best clients.
Yay!
Even during a pandemic people still need my services…I rock!
Maybe things aren’t so bad after all.
You have a great sales conversation and everything seems lined up for a sale! 🙂
Then she asks you this blood-chilling question…
What’s your website address? I want to show your site to my partner
There it is…
That stomach-clenching moment you dread… She wants to see your website 🙁 You want to say… Pahleeeez don’t go to my website But instead you say… Ummm…the website is really old but we’re working on a new one. Lame. Lame. Lame. You don’t want your prospect to go to your website because your website sucks… And you’re scared it will turn-away this promising new client and her partner… What makes it even worse is that FIX WEBSITE has been on your to-do list for months…years perhaps… But things are always popping-up that are way more important… Client work… Bookkeeping stuff… Life. Which begs the question… What does FIX WEBSITE mean anyway… Uploading new headshots? Trying out a different WordPress theme? A different font? Listen, it’s not your fault your website sucks… You’re not a website designer. And if you’re honest you aren’t really sure what’s WRONG with your website. It does a pretty good job of telling people what you do… But there’s only one thing your ideal prospect wants to know… What you are going do FOR THEM. When prospects feel you get them and can solve their problem…they’re way more motivated to put their toe in the water and start the buyer’s journey with you… It’s a proven fact. So are you ready to fix your website? P.S. The first step to fixing your website is to get totally clear about your ideal client or customer. Even if you already developed your customer avatar, there’s a chance you could be doing a better job of stopping them in their tracks with your marketing message.
