3 Of My Favorite Marketing Blogs
I’m on vacation this week. (!)
Being on vacation clears my brain of the minutia of running a business and opens up space for me to pay deliberate attention to what I do on a daily basis — the things that even vacation won’t keep me from.
So, today when I opened my laptop I realized that every day, the first thing I do is check to see if my favorite blog writers have posted anything new.
Because even while I’m on vacation I still want to read their stuff.
So, I thought I’d share them with you. Here are some of my favorites:
1. {Grow} by Mark Schaefer
Mark is a giant in the world of social media marketing, but unlike a lot of his peers, he doesn’t try to wow you with his brilliance.
Through his blog (and his books), I’ve learned more about social and content marketing then anywhere else.
In Mark’s most recent blog, he chose a controversial topic that’s in the news and on the minds of marketers, parents, investors, and voters:
Is Facebook Good For The World?
He draws you in, gets you to agree with him, then turns the tables on you! (and makes you think.)
This is a true example of perfectly structured and thought-provoking content.
2. Ambition Ally
I don’t sell online courses, but I religiously read this wonderful blog by online course pro, Nathalie Lussier.
If for no other reason than to learn from her about email marketing!
This is her most recent email exactly as it came into my inbox:
Notice how her story gently draws you in.
How her nurturing tone keeps you in.
And, notice how by structuring text in single sentences separated from each other by double space, it’s a smooth and easy read on any device. Check out more here:
3. Jo at Copy Hackers
To many folks who make their living by writing marketing content, Joanna Wiebe is THE guru.
Jo, as she likes to be called, is one of the most sought-after conversion copywriters out there and commands top dollar for her work.
So, it’s not a stretch to imagine that she’d be too busy (and have no need) to share her knowledge with we lowly humans down here on the ground.
But she does!
I’ve learned more about web copywriting from Jo than from anyone else.
If you want to hone your web copywriting chops as a writer for hire – or just want to be more effective in your own business writing – I recommend subscribing to her blog and to her free Tutorial Tuesdays.
